AUSSIE FILIPINO Golf Player, 27 year old, 6 ft tall JASON DAY became the WORLD NO. 1 on 21 September 2015 after winning the BMW Golf Tournament in Lake Forrest, Illinois by six shots from the nearest challenger Daniel Berger of the US, his 4th PGA Tour victory in the space of 51 days and 7th in his young career. 2015 is JASON’s year having won previously the RBC Canadian Open, The PGA Championships, The Barclays. Starting the year ranked 11th in the world, his childhood dream to become no. 1 in golf came true in this Lake Forrest BMW Tournament. He is the youngest world no. 1 amongst Australians who held the no. 1 spot, Greg Norman (at age 31) and Adam Scott (at age 33). He turned professional in 2006.
The history making win earned him the pinnacle achievement in the world of golf, ahead of Rory Mcilroy (NIR), Jordan Spieth (USA), Bubba Watson (USA) and Ricky Fowler (USA), the world’s top five golfers. That puts him also in Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, as the only players in the past 20 years to win in 5 PGA Tour Events in the same year.

His mother sent him to Kooralbyn International School, which has a golf course attached. Later he went to Hills International College, where they have a golf academy at the behest of his coach, Col Swatton.
He borrowed a book about Tiger Woods from his roommate, and it inspired him to improve his golf by practising in the early morning, at lunch time, and in the evening.. He used the books reports of Woods’ scores as his benchmark for improvement and as a reachable standard.
His first big win was at age 13 in a 2000 Australian Masters Junior event in the Gold coast where he won with scores 87, 78, 76 and 76.
The remarkable feat of Jason in golf inspite of the trials and tribulations at a young age is an inspiration to all especially for young Pinoys to keep their dreams alive. You can do it .
