It’s time to have your say on who should be the 2015 Australian of the Year.

Each year, the Australian of the Year Awards program asks the public to submit their suggestions on who should be considered for the four Awards:

•Australian of the Year
•Senior Australian of the Year (60 years and over)
•Young Australian of the Year (16-30 years)
•Australia’s Local Hero

Nominating is easy – it can be an Australian you know or someone you have never met, just tell us what makes them inspiring and how they contribute to making Australia a better place.

From public nominations, finalists are selected in each Award category for all States and Territories. The State and Territory Award recipients then go on to the national Awards which are announced on 25 January each year.

Nominations for all Award categories can be made online at www.australianoftheyear.org.au or call 1300 655 193 for more information.

Go online to submit a nomination before 1 August 2014 – one nomination is all it takes, and it could be yours that is awarded the next Australian of the Year.
