Congratulations to Mr Christopher and Mrs Geraldine Van Oord on their marriage on the 14th of December 2013. Geraldine is the daughter of Larry and Cora Perez of Croydon Park and Christopher is the son of Gerard and Karin Van Oord of Wollongong. Following an eager wait exactly two years after Christopher asked for Geraldine’s hand in marriage, the day had finally arrived.
Christopher wore a chic Italian suit in charcoal, coupled with an ivory shirt and vest, and silver tie. Geraldine dressed in an elegant slim-flare gown with lace detailing and a hand-beaded bodice that culminates into a semi-illusion chapel train. Her mother’s antique ring given on Geraldine’s wedding day complemented her gown coupled with graceful pearl earrings borrowed from her Maid of Honour, Celine Torres-Avery. Church bells rang as Geraldine arrived in an immaculate white classic Plymouth Sedan with her proud father right by her side.
Christopher and Geraldine proclaimed their vows with their family, friends and The Lord in witness at St Michael’s Anglican Cathedral, Wollongong. The newlyweds then headed to their all-time favourite location, Wollongong Harbour, for their first snaps as husband and wife with their loyal best friends and bridal party, consisting of Celine Torres-Avery, Roger Cristallo, Diana Stefanski and Shane Hudson.
Arrival to the reception venue, Panorama House, Bulli Tops, was an eventful one indeed, with Christopher, Geraldine and the bridal party arriving by helicopter – what a grand entrance! The remainder of the night was flawless, complete with thoughtful speeches, an elegant wedding cake wrapped in lace and roses, the first dance, mother and son dance and father and daughter dance, delightful food with Italian flavours, a photo booth and a short videography display of the bride and groom’s love story. The evening concluded with guests creating a farewell tunnel for the newlyweds’ departure. It was truly a memorable event; congratulations Mr and Mrs Van Oord!
