SUPPORTING SENIORS’ RIGHTS AND PREVENTING ELDERLY ABUSE

by Maria Smith

In behalf of the Australian-Filipino Community Services (AFCS) Inc. may I invite everyone to support our upcoming “My Grandparents are Fantastic” concert to be held at the Drum Theatre in Dandenong Plaza, corner Lonsdale and Walker Streets in Dandenong, on February 22 (Saturday) 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

This concert supported by the Ethnics Communities Council of Victoria (ECCV), Seniors Rights Victoria and Home and Community Care (HACC) will promote public awareness and prevention of elder abuse particularly among ethnic communities.

This is a concert to be presented in a more light-hearted atmosphere by way of an amusing play showing grandchildren in the school environment bragging about their grandparents, and their life journey to the Australian teachers and friends.

With some live entertainment, the Fantastic concert will focus on the theme “respect and dignity in ageing”, with invited speakers Mr. Gary Ferguson from the Seniors Rights Victoria and Ms. Fiona York from the ECCV.

An array of talents certainly promise to amuse everyone on February 22 (Saturday) from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. With special guest MR. ADRIAN LI DONNI (young tenor of Broadway’s “The King & I”) and a number of promising young and experienced talents, the concert is sure to be a fantastic event of s lifetime.
