CLIMATE CHANGE

What an eerie feeling waking up in the early morning of Wednesday, the 23rd of September 2009. All I can see is orange-red and not a
glimpse of the sun can be seen. It was the dust-storm that came from the west of Sydney. This phenomenon could be the result of a tornado which passed through the deserts and bare fields and sucked up the very fine dust. Other term used for it is dust devil. This is certainly not good for people with respiratory problem. As if we haven’t enough of the very fine reddish colour dust and another sand storm was experienced 2 days after the first one, Luckily, it wasn’t as bad like the first one. We could imagine the bad effect this caused the poor farmers already experiencing a very long spell of drought. The top soil of their farms was scraped off by the strong wind and blown towards the east coast to the sea.

The following Sunday, 27th of September, a very bad news about the Philippines, A very strong typhoon with heavy rain caused huge flooding was being experienced in Manila and surrounding areas. The strong wind and heavy rain continued ravaging for several days and some people died of drowning and some buried in landslide. They said it was the worst disaster in 40 years. It is the consensus that these happenings were due to climate change and our politicians are still arguing about climate change. It is high time for every one not only the politicians to think about how we can improve our planet earth. This climate change is caused by humans and not the WILL of our ALMIGHTY GOD!!!
