Dulaaang Bayan Melbourne (DBMI), a Filipino community theatre in Melbourne, elected its new officers during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, 3 November 2013 at the Philippine Australian Multi-purpose Centre at 93 Cowper Street, Footscray.
The newly elected officers are: Chairperson, Frisco Gutierrez; Vice-chairperson, Rheg Taylor; Secretary, Adrian Prophet; Assistant Secretary, Willie Obien; Treasurer, Nikki Garing and Assistant Treasurer, Orly Victuelles.
After the election, the officers and members discussed the forthcoming programs and projects of the organization. One of these is a stage production which will be shown early October next year.
DBMI is encouraging members of the Filipino-Australian community to join in this theatre group which aims to delineate the social realities of Migrant Filipinos in Australia and to showcase the artistic and creative talents of Filipino-Australians in Victoria.
