The Philippine Food Festival is back in Sydney from 11 to 19 October 2014 at Cafe Mix, Shangri-la Hotel as part of the Sydney Morning Herald's Good Food Month " International Dinners" in October.
Three guests chefs from sister property Makati Shangi-la , are flown to Australia by Philippine Airlines, to showcase the unique cuisine that the Filipino culture has to offer.
The exciting annual event has been growing in popularity since its inception in 2005, and classic favourites such as kare-kare ( oxtail stew in a rich peanut sauce), pork sisig ( a punchy, vinegar-spiked appetiser) and chicken inasal ( marinated chicken grilled over hot coals ) are featured at the lavish, buffet-style spread. A whole host of Filipino desserts on offer also for those with a sweet tooth !
The Philippine Food Week runs with lunch available for $55 per person from 12:00 - 2:30 pm , Monday to Friday, and 12:30 - 2:30 PM on Saturday and and Sunday. Dinner is available from 6 -10PM at $75 daily.
