It was a special celebration for the 80th birthday of Uncle Adolfo Cruzado with a party held on Saturday November 28 at the Blacktown Workers Sports Club. Organised by his daughter Charito, Uncle Adolfo was surrounded by 50 family and friends who gathered for the milestone celebration. Some travelled from as far as the central coast and Tweed Heads. At age 40, Adolfo migrated to Australia 39 years ago with his wife Mariet and their three children (Adolfo JNR, Charito and Rommel) settling in Wentworthville.
Back at home, the Tweed Filipino Support Group has been busy raising funds for those affected by the Haiyan Typhoon. Locals have supported the cause, with relatives of members being directly affected by the national disaster. Thoughts and prayers to them and hoping they are also receiving some relief from international aid programs.
All the best in 2014!
